General Questions
Throw & Fire is Arizona’s clay supply destination — offering quality clay, glazes, tools, and studio essentials for hobbyists, home potters, schools, and professional studios. We’re locally owned and sister-run with Burst of Butterflies Creative Studios.
Not yet! We currently have a warehouse with appointment only pickup. Delivery and shipping options are also available depending on your order.
Yes! We supply clay and materials to schools, art programs, and studios across Arizona with special bulk pricing. Contact us to get set up.
Ordering & Payment
Simply add items to your cart and check out online. If you need help choosing the right clay or glaze, feel free to contact us.
We accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and school purchase orders (POs).
If your order hasn’t been packed yet, we’ll do our best to help. Contact us as soon as possible.
Shipping, Local Delivery & Pickup
Yes! Non-clay items ship nationwide. Clay ships locally within Arizona and regionally depending on weight and destination.
Yes. We hand-deliver across the East Valley for schools and larger orders. Delivery options will appear at checkout based on your ZIP code and what’s in your cart.

Clay & Materials
We carry multiple clay bodies including Chocolate, Ironstone, Cashmere, White Stoneware, Red Stoneware, and more. Each clay’s product page includes firing range and specific characteristics.
We currently distribute clay through New Mexico Clay and stock multiple popular brands of tools, glazes, and materials. More brands coming soon.
Keep clay wrapped tightly in plastic bags or buckets. Store in a cool environment to maintain moisture.
Glazes
We have a variety of glazes designed for lowfire, mid-fire and high fire applications. Always check the product page for cone information.
Yes, but always test first! Even within the same cone range, different brands may interact uniquely.
Some glazes come in 2oz or 4oz sizes. We are expanding our sample size options
Tools & Equipment
Our Beginner Tool Kit includes a rib, needle tool, sponge, trimming tool, wire cutter, and wooden knife — everything a new potter needs.
Yes! Our catalog includes a growing selection and we continue to add high-demand items.
Schools & Studios
Yes! We supply clay and materials to Arizona schools and art programs, and we’re actively expanding our school partnerships. Email us to get pricing and delivery details.

Order Issues
Take photos as soon as you open the package and contact us. We’ll make it right.
Let us know — sometimes clay and glazes ship separately.

Returns & Exchanges
Unused, unopened items may be returned within 14 days. Clay and glaze cannot be returned once opened.
For large or special orders, a restocking fee may apply.
Technical Questions
Each clay type lists its firing range on the product page. Most are mid-range (cone 5/6). Always verify before firing.
Yes! We can help with clay selection, glaze troubleshooting, kiln questions, and general ceramic guidance.
