Throw And Fire is the clay and kiln-fired arts division of Burst Of Butterflies Art Studio, founded by three generations of our family with a shared love of creativity. We exist to make quality clay, glazes, and tools accessible to studios, schools, and makers across Arizona. Every time someone opens a new bag of clay or unloads a fresh kiln, we’re grateful to play a small part in that moment of joy and self-expression.

Our story

We are a family who loves art and loves our community. Creativity has been a part of our lives for as long as we can remember—Peg, Cheryl, Risa, and Lucas have always believed that art should be woven into everyday life.

Our Sister Company, Burst Of Butterflies, began in 2013 with a simple vision: to create a welcoming space where everyone could feel free to explore, create, and enjoy art without inhibition. Over the years, our studios have grown to offer wheel-throwing, hand-building, pottery painting, canvas art, mixed media, and more.

As our studios evolved, a natural next step was offering high-quality supplies not only for our customers, but for other studios, schools, and makers across Arizona. That vision became Throw And Fire—our dedicated kiln-fired arts shop focused entirely on clay, pottery, and glass supplies.
