Where Is the Best Place to Fire My Clay Creations in Arizona?

A Hassle-Free, Reliable Kiln Firing Option for Every Potter

Whether you’re brand-new to clay or an experienced hand-builder or wheel thrower, the hardest part of the process is often the same: finding a safe, reliable place to fire your work.

Not everyone has access to a kiln — and even those who do often want the comfort of a professionally monitored firing schedule.

That’s where Burst of Butterflies Create & Paint Studio comes in.
The Chandler and Peoria studios fire thousands of pieces every month from home potters, school programs, local artists, and clay hobbyists across Arizona.

If you need your pieces fired, we’ve got you covered.

Why Burst of Butterflies Is the Best Place for External Firing

✔ Professional kiln technicians

Our team is trained in firing schedules, clay compatibility, glaze chemistry, and kiln safety. Your pieces are handled with care from drop-off to pickup.

✔ Fast, reliable turnaround

They fire multiple kilns four to six nights per week, with dedicated bisque and glaze cycles to keep your work moving quickly.

✔ Affordable and transparent pricing

You’ll only pay for the space your pieces take up — starting at half shelf to full shelf to full kiln load.

✔ They accept clay from anywhere

Whether you purchased clay from Throw & Fire, a local shop, a class, or online — they can fire it.

✔ Perfect for:

  • Home potters
  • Teachers and school classes
  • Etsy and craft sellers
  • Ceramic hobbyists
  • Kids’ clay creations
  • Artists testing new clays or glazes

How It Works

1. Bring your greenware or bisque to either studio (Chandler or Peoria)

No appointment necessary — just drop off during business hours.

2. Fill out a simple firing form

We’ll ask what clay body you used and whether you want bisque, glaze, or both.

3. They label, track, fire, and safely store your pieces

Every item is tagged and scanned into your firing ticket to make sure nothing gets lost or mismatched.

4. Pick up your fired pieces

They’ll text or email you when everything is ready! Pickup is easy and fast.

Firing Options Available

Bisque Firing (Cone 04–06)

The first firing that turns clay into permanent ceramic.

Glaze Firing (Cone 05/06 for Lowfire Clay or Cone 5/6 for Stoneware)

For finished, durable, food-safe pieces.

Specialty Loads (if required)

If your project needs a unique temperature or clay body, their kiln techs can help.

Important Guidelines

  • Only clay (no raw metal, wood, or mixed-media pieces).
  • No commercial glazes outside of compatible cone ranges.
  • If you’re unsure what type of clay you have — bring it in, and they can help identify it.
  • Pieces that extremely overhang shelves or contain air pockets may require special handling.

Why This Service Exists

So many hobbyists and school programs simply don’t have access to a kiln — but they still deserve to create.
Burst of Butterflies has become Arizona’s go-to firing center because we believe creativity shouldn’t be limited by equipment.
